To me this poem means that during summer anything can happen. Also you are supposed to have fun during vacation. In the poem he mentions his family ashtray which means that he spends time with his family during the summers. Also during summer time just floats away during the summer and civilization seems so far away because you don’t seem to notice anything happening while you sit around lazily with your family. In the poem skinned knees are metioned. I think this is a reference to just being carefree and having fun during the hot summer days, while eating watermelon enjoying yourself.

Some people are apposed to fluoride in their water becuase it can be harmful. Fluoride in water causes dental fluorosis which can cause the enamel on your teeth to decay. When your enamel is not there your teeth become very sensitive and there coating of pretection is gone. This is why I’m apposed to fluoride in my water. I’m apposed to having fluoride in my water because it is possible that I could get dental fluorosis if there is to much fluoride.Though it is controversial to have fluoride in water there is also fluoride in toothpaste and mouthwashes that you and I use every day. Before fluoride was put in toothpaste and mouthwashes scientists had to find the best compound of fluoride like magnesium fluoride. Today fluoride is in every toothpaste out there like Crest. I’m concerned about my teeth turning colors , but also dental fluorosis can be very painful and I don’t think I want my enamel to decay.
